Review by 4clubbers.net
Brooklyn based Chordashian have served up something that certainly
sparkles. Call Me is awash with luscious 80’s melodies, snappy finger
clicks, vintage drums and the perfect amalgamation of layered vocals and
warm soundscapes. Albeit a slow descent, it doesn’t remove from the
classic, glossy feel of the track. Ever since the arrival of Chromeo,
rarely has anyone got close to the character of their hypnotic quantized
funk. Yet Call Me is close, in fact very close to the prodigious
American’s wondrous productions.
Remix duties come from BRONX. Staying true to their ethos, tempo is
notched up, disco-meter switched up to over drive resulting in a
delightful piano laden, club orientated track.
Amid the Tsunami of Nu disco music around at the moment there’s
always nuggets of brilliance and raw talent that stand out. Spacewalker
Recordings have uncovered yet another in the Chordashian.
